Abstract: This study examines the influence of leadership styles on project team performance, aiming to: 1) identify the most effective leadership styles in enhancing team performance, 2) evaluate the relationship between leadership styles and team dynamics, and 3) recommend strategies for leadership development. A survey design was utilized to collect quantitative data from project team members, providing a broad perspective on leadership effectiveness. The sample size of 370 respondents was determined using Taro Yamane's formula, ensuring a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. The case study focused on the manufacturing sector in Port Harcourt, where leadership plays a critical role in project success. The reliability coefficient score of the survey instrument was 0.85, indicating high reliability. Findings revealed that transformational and participative leadership styles significantly boost team performance and morale. It is recommended that organizations invest in leadership development programs and encourage leadership styles that foster team collaboration and innovation.
